Greening Edmonton

Who said Edmonton isn’t innovative? Check out how this new project is further ‘greening’ for Edmontonians.

"The world’s first municipal facility to convert household garbage into biofuels opened Wednesday at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre. It’s expected that by 2016, 90 per cent of the city’s waste will be diverted out of the landfill due to this new facility. Currently, Edmonton recycles and composts 60 per cent of its waste." Check out the Top 10 Greenest cities in the world. In Reykjavik the hot water is geothermally heated. One local told us on a recent trip that  1 hour long showers were a past time.
